Activities : Hunting in Iceland
Hunting in Iceland has only recently been embraced by foreign sportsmen, and the few who have made the journey have usually been pleasantly surprised. The vast, wild and unspoiled interior of Iceland provides ideal habitat for ptarmigan and reindeer. The coastal fringes are host to thousands of geese that gather there in the autumn, after a summer of breeding in the mountain areas, before their long flight to the south. There are also ducks along the coast for most of the year. Ptarmigan hunting is also possible in mountains during the late fall.
Hunting is well organized and regulated, thus ensuring well managed populations of quarry species. Importing firearms goes very smoothly as we have a partner that will have all the paper work ready for you to sign on arrival at Keflavik airport. Then you come to Hotel Ranga where you meet your guide and you are escorted to the hunting grounds for a memorable experience. Please enquire well beforehand about enjoying these possibilities.
